I am most thankful for Jesus Christ, who died sinless for the sins of all mankind, even those that mankind chooses not to call sin.

I am thankful that Republicans still hold the majority in the U.S. House of Representatives so that Obama and the Democrats will have a tougher time destroying the private sector.

Does it always have to be political? if the government plays that much into your life, you have issues. You are more grateful for a political outcome then say your family or being healthy. That is really sad.

      tvernilau,

the question was, what are you thankful for, Dinakim gave her answer, she didn't ask for your opinion of her answer or what she was allowed to say !

H engbers, tvernilau didnt ask you for your opinion either. BTW, written doesnt mean spoken.

But you are correct if Dinakin wants to look at the world negatively thats her choice. It does reveal more about her than she probably wishes we knew. Dont worry Dina you have our pity

I am thankful for everything; the good and the bad. The young girl that sleeps weeks at a time reminded me that my sleep disorder, narcolepsy, isn't as bad as I'd believed. I understand her suffering to a very small extent; waking only to find you've missed out. I'm thankful for my freedom and rights as an American! I'm thankful for my friends and family; they've taught me so much and help mold me into a better person. They also remind me that I am not Wonder Woman and that I need a break once in while to sit back and enjoy life. I'm thankful for my pets who remind me the value of unconditional love each day, especially when they wake me in the wee hours of the morning. I am thankful because through it all my Savior is there beside me, helping me up when I fall and keeping me strong in the face of trouble. I am thankful...the list is endless.

There is much to be thankful for. President Obama won reelection; I just retired the last day of August; I live alone but have three wonderful cats that never misbehave or miss the litter box; I've got great associations with former co-workers; and I have all my camera gear to keep me busy with landscape and wildlife photography. Not sure if I'm allowed to post this here... but please enjoy my photography at www.deserthorse.com Happy Thanksgiving to all.

OntheDownSide: Thanks! I'm always grateful to have beautiful photos to look at and share.

I'm grateful we re-elected one of the best presidents we've had. I'm so thankful American voters saw past all the money a handful of multi-billionaires used to buy power that rightfully belongs only to us, the people.

I am immensely grateful we did not elect a corporate raider who would have eliminated all assistance government is supposed to provide for its people, in down times and when disasters strike. The Constitution requires Congress above all to "raise taxes... for the general welfare."

I am grateful the electorate denied Romney the opportunity to tear asunder the social contract to cause revolution in this country and wars around the world. (I'm grateful I don't know ferndoc, who manages to poison even this pean to giving thanks with his racism!)

I'm also grateful for the electoral college, which serves to compensate for those times when voters cannot see thoughtfully enough. I'm thankful our forefathers were so thorough in protecting us, even from ourselves.

I am grateful to all who choose compassion and peace over fear & war-mongering. I am grateful to those who refuse despair.

I am grateful to those who seek healing and compromise.

I am grateful to live in a beach community. I am grateful to live in the same lovely home for over 22 years and counting. I am grateful for the stability of my life.

I am especially grateful for my education--which may not exist anymore. I am grateful to have studied human nature in Latin and Ancient Greek; so little has changed, in thousands of years. I am grateful for that special perspective.

I'm grateful we have more than enough and can live in comfort.

I'm thankful I had at least a good portion of a great career that I loved and miss very much.

I'm grateful I became disabled because I've learned how hard life is for so many, and how immediately possible it is to become invisible. I'm grateful I was brought to my knees. I've been humbled, and I'm thankful for it.

I am thankful for the time my disability has given me: time to read Czar Peter I, the entire Temeraire series by Naomi Novik, and much more. Time to design and knit high fashion apparel for our girl at school back East. Time for solitude and reflection.

I am grateful my life has become and remains small. I am thankful my disability has rendered me for all practical purposes a hermetic recluse, allowing me to wander, hopefully, towards wisdom.

I'm grateful to love logic & science. I'm thankful I rid myself of a god we made in our own image. I am more tolerant, more compassionate, more peaceful, and so much more bedazzled by the natural world and how little we know, than to be making up stories. I've grown to accept we are all souls touched together at once by a 'divine' we will never fully understand--nature itself.

I am thankful to be led at last by the true teachings of Christ-- not because he was a god, but because he was a compassionate liberal-- with a deep understanding of human hubris.

Above all, I am eternally grateful for my little family. I never dreamed to have a family; I was hellbent on being all law enforcement career unto death! So it was splendidly serendipitous to have found myself as wife and mother, despite my own intent.

I thank the cosmos for these beings who share my unimportant life, these mere molecular recombinants who are, to me, miraculous.

I'm thankful that this year I've found something to help me keep breathing - even in spite of all you women (and men) who do NOT know how to apply perfume/cologne in a SANE manner.

Yep - I've had to buy a respirator mask like a painter or someone who works with toxic fumes and I have to wear it in public because you bimbos out there can't seem to regulate your hygiene without dumping a half-bottle of perfume all over yourselves. Yes, you know who you are - you're the ones who leave an elevator which will reek of your putrid stench an hour after you've left.

SO - in spite of you whores - I can still breathe and won't be getting asthma attacks that have put me in the emergency room 3 times in the last 2 years, and I'm very thankful.

(PS - I'd be more thankful if you bitches would just die).

Not sure why you collapsed the Samuel Adams comment. My mom stopped going to church for the same reason. People with COPD do have problems with strong perfume.

I do not have C O P D and i even i do care for it . I prefer you just smell clean not like a flower shop or a trash can .

Not that anyone cares about anyone but themselves anymore.

I will guess he was collapsed because of his unfounded comments calling women whores and bimbos. Why people feel the need to use unnecessary and abusive language toward others is beyond me. It really does diminish the point that person is trying to make.

I am beyond grateful for so many blessings, too many to list, but very high on the list is good health, our three incredible rescue cats and my wonderful husband of 47 years who has always had his great job through decades and shaky economic times. I'm grateful for our lovely home in the country and for the privilege of taking care of my Mom, an Alzheimer's victim, during the last six years of her life as she eased into eternity. There is so much to appreciate in the little things that we often overlook. Life really is good.

                            "HOW CAN I BE THANKFUL?"

How can I be thankful, when things seem to go all wrong,

or when I'm feeling down and out, in my heart there is no song?

How can I be thankful, for the things that make me cry,

for things I have no answer for, and I ask the question why?

I know there is a God above, who hears my every prayer,

and said He'll never place on me, a burden I can't bear,

But there are times I question Lord, will there ever be an end,

to this long road I'm traveling, that has been a downward trend?

The answer comes right back to me, that is now crystal clear.

The problem that you’re having son, you've been looking in a mirror.

You've been looking at yourself, instead of all around,

for the many blessings given, each day how they abound.

I beg for your forgiveness Lord, and pray you will help me see,

all the needs of others, and not a thing for me.

I have so much to thank you for, please help me take the time,

to stop each day, and thank you for, the things that I call mine.

I pray that you will help me, each day that I now live,

to share my life with others, and give all that I can give.

Please help me to reflect the light that you have shown on me,

and through your love help someone else, be all that they can be.

                            I Thessalonians 5:18; Ephesians 5:20

                            Phillip Kelley

** Notice: The scripture says; “In everything give thanks.” Not; for everything give thanks. It would be humanly impossible to give thanks from our Heart for everything: Be thankful In the midst of our trial, In- spite of our current circumstances, and In- stead of grumbling and Complaining.

I am so thankful that Odumbo got re-elected rather than Romney (Odumbo lite) knowing that either path would lead myself and the rest of America down the path of socialism. How can we not have something to be thankful for and rejoice?

I am so thankful that a military industrial complex can try to pull the wool over my eyes and 99.9% of America by superpacs that were funded by the huge, left wing socialist corporations (for both the repub & dem side) that will bring the downfall of all of America and what our country was built on while throwing the Constitution right out the window.

Left wing socialist corporations of the military industrial complex have taken control. And they have a lot of money. More than the right wing conservative corporations have. The tide has turned! At least the rebup believed in spreading the wealth around, now unless you're worth a billion or more, you have no say. Well, contact your Rep or Senator...ya, right in the pocket of the socialists.

                              This is nothing but bullsh*t.

How can we not be thankful to live in a wonderful country with such a sh*thole of a government which is the best government that money can buy. If you thought it was bad with old republican party and their money in control, just wait. The worst is yet to come. These people could care less. Just wait, everyone on the draw, you're cuts are coming.

Barney.... why don't you and your kind just move to Canada or Australia or where the f#ck ever. If America sucks so bad, then just leave.

Thousands immigrate here every year to escape true suppression. You have no idea how lucky you are no matter which party is in power.

Just shut up or leave, OK?

You can leave, you idiot. My family served in the military and make sacrifices for the freedom of us all to see it destroyed by a few, wealthy, greedy socialists. Our country is going right down the toilet. We need to defend it once again and make it a great nation once again. Fools such as you just stand by and watch. You think because it might be somewhat worse somewhere else, that's it so much better here, withour ever realizing what was lost. You are a fool!

I am grateful to live in a country that allows to express ourselves openly without fear of prosecution and with most of the freedom which our founding fathers gave us through their hard fought war.

We should all be thankful that the U.S. will now be a third world country. Better than a country lower than that I guess! Obama...free turkey for eveyone! Oh sh*t, how do we pay for this? Helicopter Ben, print some more money to buy it, no problem. What's another few hundred million? Hell, we're already so far in debt we can't see daylight.

The international bankers are loving the debt of the U.S. to no end. We're screwed! I am thankful that Odumbo was re-elected and stuck with this mess. Let's try to see him stumb-bumble his way out of it. I'd sit back and laugh, if it weren't so painful of how we will all be screwed.

I'm thankful that idiots like you were defeated in your hatred. I'm thankful that the American people saw through the destroy, delay and deter progress agenda that McConell and Boehner promoted in favor of partisan politics.

I have never cared about the color of a man's skin... only what is in his heart.

I am thankful that the heart of America is wishing to move beyond a past based on such hatred.

Dude, you are a fool. The present poser in the White House STILL can't bring himself to tell the truth about his skrewup in Benghazi because he just can't admit a mistake! Most Americans could forgive his blunder if he would just man-up and admit it, but the truth will come out and the American people will never forget his dishonesty. It goes to character!

If I have any hatred, it's not against any people, other than the few, rich, socilaist bas*tards that are hell bent on a one World government and turning our country into a third world country. Those people I do not like. They can be defeated. It's just a handful of people with a lot of money (billionaires) that are socialists trying to run the entire country. We just need to get control of our politics again and then our government and these people will be out.

I am thankful that less than half of the country's voters were big enough idiots to vote for Mitt Romney. The other larger half voted for the best Man.

Even with all the bigoted hatred that obviously still exist even on the HILL, President Obama has been able to lead this country out of the horrible mess we were in four years ago.

FOUR MORE YEARS ! FOUR MORE YEARS ! FOUR MORE YEARS !

Were your ancestors Native Americans? I only ask because I think what you just typed would be their opinion to a tee.
