I found a great gift for me: the file band...almost everything else on the list is useless (in my workplace, anyway)!
Okay, I hate to admit it, but I don't understand what a file band is for...
Really? These ideas will at best get me exiled as a crappy gift giver.

My company frowns on employee gift exchanges. They promote donations to local charities instead. We support local food banks, toy drives, and other children's charities.
Hey SS66 there is an idea in there. Someone should start a web site where you can give the $20 to your favorite charity but have it in your coworkers' name. I would rather be part of that. You are now the very first person this year that I will say "Merry Xmas" to.
As someone who is known for giving funny and dare I say good gifts (the secret: always be on the lookout, my family isn't a big xmas or birthday gift giver, we're a 'hey saw this and thought you'd like it' gift giver), I could see some of those working for my group of friends/family/coworkers and I'm going to have fun checking out those websites.
