Michael Buble: Why I still believe in Santa Claus

Crooner Michael Buble is a one-man soundtrack to the season, bringing back Bing Crosby hits like “I’ll be Home for Christmas” and “White Christmas.” But what’s the perfect gift for the man who’s on a mission to be synonymous with the holiday season?

Turns out it’ll be tough to beat the best present he’s ever gotten.

“My room was being fumigated when I was 7, so no one could go in the room a week before Christmas,” he told TODAY.com. “And magically on Christmas morning Santa had left clues to go up to the room and when I got there, the room had been transformed into “Star Wars,” like my wallpaper was “Star Wars,” my bed spread was “Star Wars” — I even had a Darth Vader light where the switch was his nose and it turned on and off. If I ever had any doubt that there was a Santa Claus, I realized I was a fool because no one could have gotten into that room but Santa Claus because the fumigation would have killed them.”

Even as an adult, Buble says he still has faith and is a staunch defender of Old St. Nick. Don’t even TRY to tell him he’s wrong. When asked how old he was when he learned Santa was fictional, Buble responded with mock anger.

“There is a Santa Claus. When you stop believing, then he doesn’t come, and I feel sad for people don’t believe in him anymore.”

Jokes aside, Buble told TODAY.com that he loves the craziness of the holidays, and his favorite part hanging out with the family.

“It’s great seeing the kids at 5:30 in the morning and all the adults looking like they’re going to die because they’re hung over from the night before and getting four hours of sleep,” he said.

Stop Lying to Your Children

(Regarding Santa, the Easter Bunny, the Tooth Fairy and the like)

No lie is of The Truth... Yet young children are of the truth, and remain with Me and in Me. Even now I call to them, for My lambs know My voice... And that which came from Me, must soon return to Me.
Therefore, strive according to the Truth and that love, which I am. And in no way speak lies to your children, for this is sin. Rather feed them with The Bread from Heaven, the bread which I am... The Way, The Truth, The Life. For this alone is pleasing to God. Anything to the contrary is of the world and the evil one, no matter its disguise... Says The Lord.
